Union 28 Community Network for Children Program
Join our team to support families with young children in the Union 28 communities of Erving, Leverett, New Salem, Shutesbury, and Wendell. Make a meaningful impact as a Playgroup Educator, leading parent/child educational sessions that foster early learning and community connection.
Position Details:
- Part-time, stipended per 1.5-hour session including prep and planning.
- 1 session/week during the school year, possibility of additional sessions.
- Currently filling the position in Erving on Monday mornings.
- Grant-funded, non-benefited position
- Training upon hire. Position to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
Lead playgroups aligned with EEC guidelinesPromote CNC programs and Ages & Stages QuestionnaireFoster inclusive, supportive environments for families
Collaborate with CNC staff and partners (e.g., libraries, schools)
Manage planning, setup, cleanup, and material organizationTrack attendance and support reporting needs
Qualifications:
1–3 years in early childhood education or parent supportAssociate’s degree (minimum)Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and pass CORI/fingerprinting checksBilingual and musical skills a plus

You can choose to substitute in all four schools or only in the ones of your choice.
Time: Daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesdays till 1:30 p.m.
Rates are as follows:
Teacher: $120/day ($110 on Wednesday)
Para-Educator: $100/day ($90 on Wednesday)
Nurse/RN: $175/day ($155.00 on Wednesday)
Nurse/LPN: $125/day ($105 on Wednesday)
